I am curious about the reason of not cloning back the "users" folder to the computers HFS+ main drive once updated the 10.14.x auxiliary ("mule") APFS drive. hoping this can be accepted by all those non-Apple applications runnnig now under Mojave and in spite of having kept HFS+ ? ). While actively the "mule" is used only for Apple OSX 10.14.x updates, as you say, all non-Apple-OSX applications (Office, Adobe, etc.) should update, if I understand you right, directly in the HFS+ Mojave volume. the "mule" drive will have all the applications presently used under High Sierra (a clone of it, first made and then upgraded to Mojave APFS). ) with the inner drive of my MacPro End 2013 but at least (thanks God) no T2 chip to worry about.Īnd. Thank you very much Fishrrman for your very kind answer and detailed and clear explanation, which I appreciate very much indeed!Īlas, in my case, it had to work (hopefully. I just don't know, because I don't have one and can't try it.īut it DOES work when you're willing to boot from an external drive as described above.Ĭlick to expand. I don't know if this method can be used on a Mac's internal drive, particularly new MacBook Pro's with the t2 chip. When done, I power down, put the mule drive away, and then I can boot and run with my completely-updated copy of Mojave running under HFS+.īut again - it CAN be done, if you want to take the extra steps to do it. I then run CarbonCop圜loner on it, cloning the entire drive WITH THE EXCEPTION OF the "users" folder.Ħ. When done, I connect my "working drive" (USB3 SSD).ĥ. Software update "finds" the updates and then applies them to the mule drive.Ĥ. When an update is needed, I boot from my mule drive, and run software update.ģ. It's my ONLY APFS drive, and it is never used, except when an update becomes available.Ģ. I have a "mule drive" - a second hard drive (old, platter-based) that has a copy of Mojave running in APFS. It's a little more work than usual to maintain, but it IS possible and "do-able".ġ. I have an external SSD (connected via USB3) that has the latest version of Mojave on it running under HFS+. "You can't keep HFS and if you somehow manage to do (using CarbonCopy Cloner or by mounting the drive and copying stuff over) you will never be offered Software Updates or an avenue to upgrade your Mac."

The downside is that sites may not try to serve a non-Flash version of their content, if any exists.įor this reason, I configure my Firefox to completely disable Flash (“Never Activate”) in the add-ons preference screen. I suppose it has to do this, otherwise the remote site wouldn’t try to serve Flash content and the browser wouldn’t put up the icon you need to enable Flash (should you want to). This site contains user submitted content, comments and opinions and is for informational purposes only. The only problem with this approach is that when in the “Ask To Activate” mode, Firefox reports that you have Flash capability. If you do want it to load, click the icon to enable Flash for that site. It’s been unusually quiet on Applehelpwriter these past few months, and the reason is that I’ve been devoting all my time and efforts to the new version of DetectX. GCC was initially a company that modded arcade games in fact, they’re responsible for Ms. With some digging, I was able to find out that it was developed not directly by Atari, but rather by General Computer Corporation. Now details surrounding Pac-Man’s development are well-known and easy to find, but not so with the Atari 2600 version of Galaxian. Both games are of the score chase variety, but Galaxian is a more enjoyable experience thanks to its more appealing visuals and quality gameplay. There’s a lot happening on-screen, the graphics are vibrant, and the action is smooth and brisk. Firstly, Galaxian resembles its arcade brethren to a striking degree (considering it’s a 2600 game). Galaxian on the other hand was released a year after Pac-Man in 1983 on the newer, larger cartridge which provided more space for the programmers to work with. It went on to be a great seller at the time (a whopping 7 million copies), but it’s a game that nowadays is best left for those with nostalgia or a deep interest in the medium. The maze is unchanging, the ghosts constantly flicker, they’re indistinguishable, the sound effects are grating, the game doesn’t have as good a sense of control over Pac-Man, and so on. What Frye produced is totally playable, and resembles Pac-Man undeniably, but its differences are negatives. This factor, along with the reduced processing power of the Atari 2600 compared to the Pac-Man arcade cabinet, compromised the game’s quality. Tod Frye, a programmer within Atari, was tasked with the game’s development, not with the most capable tools though reportedly, rather than using a newer cartridge, one with more memory, his work was confined to the smaller cartridge to reduce manufacturing costs. Having previously obtained the rights to develop home versions of Namco’s arcade games, Atari sought to capitalize on the success of Pac-Man. The story behind Pac-Man’s development is an interesting one. Ironically both of these titles are based on Namco arcade games. Two games that well highlight the stark differences between landing on either end of the quality spectrum are Pac-Man and Galaxian. None of them were able to 100% duplicate the original arcade game due to comparatively paltry processing power, but many were successful to varying degrees. The Atari 2600 was host to plenty of arcade ports. Released a year apart from each other, it was enough time for Atari to redesign their box art template. That's why I was so upset that Apple just sat on its useless user interface. If you want to customize your trackpad in macOS without paying, then Jitouch 2 will work, but it's no longer being updated, so it may not work with newer Macs.I love the Touch Bar. Touchpad++ and ExtraMagic are fine but are limited to Boot Camp. Karabiner Elements works for keyboard controls. If you want a free app to customize your Mac controls, there aren’t many options. You could also use these tools to customize a third-party keyboard on your Mac. This is a great way to deal with actions you repeat a lot. You can also launch macros to automate all kinds of tasks. They enable you to use keyboard combinations and gestures not just for basic controls but for more complex actions as well. Swish does something similar for Mac trackpads.īetterTouchTool and Keyboard Maestro are much more powerful tools. SteerMouse, for example, is focused simply on improving the performance of third-party mice on Macs. Some of these applications are relatively simple, while others are much more complicated. Which App Should You Use To Customize Your Mac Controls? As pictured, the diagonals AC and BD have the same length ( AC = BD) and divide each other into segments of the same length ( AE = DE and BE = CE). Moreover, the diagonals divide each other in the same proportions. The diagonals of an isosceles trapezoid have the same length that is, every isosceles trapezoid is an equidiagonal quadrilateral. Diagonals and height Another isosceles trapezoid. Since the lines AD and BC are parallel, angles adjacent to opposite bases are supplementary, that is, angles ∠ ABC + ∠ BAD = 180°. In the picture below, angles ∠ ABC and ∠ DCB are obtuse angles of the same measure, while angles ∠ BAD and ∠ CDA are acute angles, also of the same measure. In an isosceles trapezoid, the base angles have the same measure pairwise.

When setting up a GitHub Repo it might seem easy to just upload everything, however this method has the potential for mistakes that could lead to trouble later on, it is recommended to use a Git client or to get comfortable with the Git command line.
